Brainerd
Brainerd was founded in the 1860s at the point where the railroad to the west crossed the Mississippi River. It is now a four-season vacation destination, offering more than 30 premier golf courses. 50 miles of paved Paul Bunyan Trail, Brainerd International Raceway, the Crow Wing County Historical Museum and more than 120 lodging choices. Just south of Brainerd is the Crow Wing State Park, which offers lots of history and more areas for swimming, camping, hiking, fishing and picnicking.
