Geocaches on the Minnesota Great River Road Calling all Mississippi River enthusiasts, wildlife buffs, state park goers and outdoor Sherlock Holmes... The Minnesota Mississippi River Parkway Commission has partnered with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to bring you a modern-day treasure hunt that will bring you to all bends of the river. It's called geocaching and it's one of the fastest growing outdoor activites around.
Thanks to the DNR, the cache containers in 11 state parks on or very near the Mississippi River and Great River Road will not only include the cards from that park, but the special Great River Road card too. Make sure to sign the logbook and look for more information on geocaching challenges and awards hosted by both DNR and the Mississippi River Parkway Commission. Don’t miss the fun... It's an awesome way to get the whole family into the great outdoors!
