Lake City

Lake City is the birthplace of water-skiing, invented here in 1922 by Ralph W. Samuelson. Also famous for its apple orchards, it is the country's largest producer of the delicious Haralson apple. The entire region boasts a wide variety of species for birders, including the American Bald Eagle.
